The Lord of the Rings adalah novel fantasi epik yang ditulis oleh JRR Tolkien. Diterbitkan dalam tiga volume pada tahun 1954 dan 1955, volume masing-masing terdiri dari dua buku. Volume pertama berjudul The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers kedua volume dan volume ketiga dari The Return of the King.
Cerita ini ditulis 1937-1949 dan menjadi salah satu karya sastra abad ke-20 yang paling populer dan diterjemahkan ke dalam 38 bahasa.

In the story of Lord Of The Rings
The story begins when hobit Bilbo Baggins left the Shire and bequeathed his property to his heir, Frodo. Wizard Gandalf the gray, a friend of Bilbo, Frodo advised to be careful with the ring that was one of Bilbo's legacy.
Seventeen years later passed, and Gandalf tells Frodo to take the ring out of the dark lord Sauron Shire since been looking for the ring. Frodo, Samwise Gamgee and Peregrin Took (or Pippin) left and they met with the Ring-Wraiths in their journey.
In the beautiful woods Ithilian they met Faramir, Boromir's brother and the youngest son of Denethor. With a heavy heart, he took second hobit into a secret place that lies behind a waterfall.
After eating and resting, Faramir tells Frodo that a strange creature caught by the guards. The creature is none other than Golam, who fled when Frodo met with Faramir.
By request Frodo, he managed to save Golam of the death penalty, but Golam never forget. She hates Frodo bond or mine and cheated him and he was tied.
